How much smaller will my image get?
Most photos shrink by 50 to 80 percent at Balanced quality, with no difference you can see on a phone screen.
JPG or WebP?
WebP files are usually 25 to 35 percent smaller than JPG at the same quality and work in all modern browsers. Use JPG if you need to send the file somewhere older.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. Compression happens in your browser. Your photos never leave your device.

How do I get the sound out of a video?

Why does video take as long as the video?

How do I turn a wide video into a Reel or TikTok?
Choose Instagram Reel or TikTok, then Blur fill. The whole video sits in the middle and a blurred copy fills the space above and below, so nothing is cut off.
Why does it take as long as the video?
The video is resized right here on your device instead of on a server, which keeps it private. Your browser plays it through once while recording the new version.
What format is the result?
MP4 in most up-to-date browsers. Some browsers save WebM instead, which YouTube, TikTok and most apps also accept.
Is the sound kept?
Yes. The original audio is kept in the resized video.

1. Your files stay on your device
All of our tools (Resize, Compress, Convert and Video) work inside your web browser. The photos, videos, audio and text files you open are processed on your own device. They are never uploaded to our servers, and we cannot see, store or share them. When you close the page, the files are gone from the site.
2. Information we collect
We do not ask you to create an account and we do not collect your name, email address or other personal details through the tools. Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical information when a page is loaded, such as your IP address, browser type, the page you visited and the time of the visit. This is used to keep the website secure and running, and is kept only as long as needed for that purpose.
If you contact us by email or phone, we receive the information you choose to send us (for example your email address and message) and use it only to reply to you.
3. Cookies and local storage
Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. We use your browser's local storage to remember simple settings on your device, such as whether you chose light or dark mode. This information never leaves your device.
Our advertising partners may also place cookies, as described in the next section.

Postora is free because it is supported by advertising. We use Google AdSense to show ads on this website.

- cdnjs, jsDelivr and Hugging Face for the MP3 encoder and the speech-to-text model used by the "Auto text from speech" feature. The model is downloaded to your browser and runs on your device. Your audio is not sent to these services.
These providers may receive your IP address when your browser downloads the files, as part of how the internet works. Their use of that information is covered by their own privacy policies.
6. Links to other websites
Our pages contain links to other websites, including Ryven Studios and the advertisers whose ads appear here. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites.
7. Children's privacy
Postora is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
